My dog experienced idiopathic leg pain and couldn't walk. She was fine 2 hours earlier, but then couldn't walk without a lot of pain. I went to this hospital with no appointment and was seen in an appropriate amount of time. The DVM was clear, caring, and compassionate about the work performed and made sure I fully understand what was going every step of the way. My dog received xrays, pain/sleep medications, etc. in a timely manner.
This was an emergency visit and we discussed the follow up care required to better the life of my dog with the same hospital at a later date. The place was very busy, with other dogs in more critical conditions, but I got the care needed in the appropriate amount of time given my dog's condition compared to others also in need at that time. The vet was cool, calm, and collected and in an emergency room setting for dogs, that is good for everyone.
I have the business cards and the number saved in my phone and if I need to go back there for another emergency visit; I will. Also, given the fact it was an emergency visit with xrays and medications administered...my bill was surprisingly less than anticipated. This is precisely the reason for insurance though, for coverage of injuries that happen spontaneously because life is full of these bad surprises.
